Burn shoulders

I did a wod that was posted on the Crossfit main site back in early January.  The lighter guys and girls killed this one as I was nowhere near them.  My shoulders were burned and it gassed me.  Trying to work on stamina right now which seems to be relevant.  The 2nd week Sectional Wod was posted and I think there will be some more serious shoulder burn with the pushups.  The wod is a 15 min amrap with very extremely light weight again (just like the first week) which will definitely be another burner.

im wonderin what your thoughts are on a young guy (me) using the big dawg blog to train for the games? what are your thoughts on games training in general?

  2. thx Alex, I'm still following OPT, just doing a personalized program. I think his programming is the real deal, you would learn so much by following him for a year as he incorporates so many different methods. You can also add your own stuff in as you get used to the volume. Goodluck let me knw if you have any more questions.

  3. Thanks for that Joey,
so you mean to say your doing some of the Big dawg workouts and your own personalised stuff?
Yeah i like the idea of adding in my own workouts ontop of his stuff, is there anything you dont recommend adding (e.g. strength work because it could mess with the stuff OPT programs)

nice job on that second workout by the way, im hitting that one tomorrow!!

    cheers,
    alex

  4. OPT is programming for me. I would try the Big Dawg blog 100% for a while then start adding your own stuff as needed, but most of the time you don't need any more, remember it is periodized for long term growth, its not a short term plan, as there are no short cuts to this thing.
